Cynthia Bijl de Vroe

It has been more than 20 years now, since I came to London to join the famous Blue Badge Tourist Guide training. After dipping my toes in a few different careers, I am now where I was meant to be: showing visitors the best city in the world!
I love showing people around by coach, giving them a first glimpse of a city that they have never seen before, although the famous landmarks are always recognised immediately. Afterwards there is always someone who says "I never realised London was such a beautiful city".
Once first introductions are over, a walking tour is definitely the way to explore London in more detail. Who can resist the pump and fanfare of the Changing of the Guard? Finding a perfect spot with good views and a chance to explain what is going on is the challenge of the game. I still love it, after all these years.
Think you have seen London? I bet there's more you haven't seen yet. Have you lost yourself in the maze of courts and alleyways in the City of London? Where else can you see medieval churches dwarfed by modern skyscrapers?
Would you rather follow in the footsteps of Charles Dickens or see where Harry Potter went to buy his books? We have royal palaces to explore, but maybe you'd prefer the other side of the coin and discover the changing face of East London.
So much to see, so much to do and it never stops changing. I would love to explore it with you and make you fall in love with this city, like I have.
I have guided students from ages 7 upwards, but am equally happy to accompany your VIPs and blue chip clients, or adapt to a slower pace for those who need a bit more time. Generally my tours are light and entertaining, although always based on fact. However, if you prefer something more in-depth, I am always interested in researching something new.
Although guiding is the job for me, my detours into a variety of other occupations have made me comfortable with a wide range of clients. Please feel free to contact me about your requirements.
I am qualified to guide in Dutch and French as well as English.
