Sophie Darras
I was born and bred in Paris but I have made London my home and I absolutely love my adopted city of over 30 years.
I am a lover of history and art of any kind and I bring that passion to every tour I lead. Whether you’re eager to explore royal history, discover hidden street art, I create experiences that are both informative and fun, tailored to your interests and pace.
I can show you the “must-see” locations, from centuries-old landmarks such as Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London and St Paul’s Cathedral, to world-class museums (British Museum, National Gallery, Victoria & Albert Museum, Natural History Museum, Tate Britain, Churchill War Rooms, Imperial War Museum).
I also enjoy conducting walks exploring areas such as royal Westminster and St James’s, the City of London where the Romans landed and established Londinium, the East End & Spitalfields area that has seen waves of immigration from the 1500s onwards, Covent Garden and Bankside [Southwark & Bermondsey].
If you'd rather a themed tour, I'd be delighted to take you on a Harry Potter, Jack the Ripper, WWII/Churchill tour, street art tour or James Bond tour.
If you want to go a bit further afield, I can show you around Kensington Palace, Hampton Court Palace, Windsor town and castle, and Maritime Greenwich.
Depending on what you want to see we can travel on foot or use public transport to get around the City, however there is the option of a panoramic tour by coach or private hire vehicle.
Last but not least, I am also qualified to do guided tours of Canterbury, Oxford, the Cotswolds, Stratford/Avon, Bath, Stonehenge and Salisbury.
I like to think of myself as easy going and approachable with a very relaxed and light hearted approach to guiding. Giving the clients in my care a good time is every bit as important as the information they hear.
