¡Hola! Soy Javier, guía turístico oficial en Londres, originario de España. Me formé como historiador del arte y arqueólogo.

Llegué a Londres hace más de 12 años y sigue siendo una ciudad que me sorprende cada día. Pocos lugares en el mundo concentran tantas capas de historia, arquitectura y vida cotidiana de una forma tan viva y accesible. Mi trabajo consiste en ayudarte a entender y disfrutar todo eso sin esfuerzo, de manera relajada y estimulante.

Soy miembro del Institute of Tourist Guiding, y mi formación académica me permite aportar contexto y profundidad a cada visita, siempre sin perder de vista lo más importante: hacer que la historia sea comprensible, cercana y memorable. Espera anécdotas curiosas, detalles que suelen pasar desapercibidos y conexiones que de repente hacen que todo encaje.

Tengo especial interés en la Britania romana, la Edad Media y el periodo Tudor. Desde los restos de la Londres romana hasta la intensidad histórica de Westminster o las intrigas de palacios como Hampton Court, me encanta mostrar cómo estas épocas dieron forma a la ciudad y cómo su legado sigue presente hoy en día. La arquitectura medieval es otra de mis grandes pasiones, sobre todo el simbolismo y la artesanía que se esconden tras catedrales, castillos y edificios históricos.

Los amantes del arte también encontrarán su espacio en mis visitas. En lugares como la National Gallery, guío a los visitantes a través de las grandes historias de la pintura europea —del Renacimiento temprano al Impresionismo— siempre adaptando la experiencia a sus intereses. Ya sea el color de Van Gogh, el dramatismo de Caravaggio o el detalle romántico de los prerrafaelitas, mi objetivo es que disfrutes el arte, no que te sientas examinado.

Aunque la historia es el eje de mi trabajo, también me apasiona la vida británica actual: sus tradiciones, su día a día, la gastronomía, el humor y esas pequeñas peculiaridades tan propias del país. Creo firmemente que una buena visita conecta pasado y presente, ayudando a entender no solo lo que Gran Bretaña fue, sino lo que es hoy.

Hi! I’m Javier, a licensed tour guide based in London, originally from Spain. I trained as an Art Historian and Archaeologist.

I moved to London over 12 years ago, and it’s a city that still amazes me every day. Few places in the world combine so many layers of history, architecture and everyday life in such a vivid, walkable way. My job is to help you make sense of it all — in an engaging, relaxed and enjoyable way.

I’m a proud member of the Institute of Tourist Guiding, and my academic background helps me add depth and context to what we see, without ever losing sight of what matters most: making history accessible, human and memorable. Think fascinating anecdotes, hidden details, and connections that suddenly make everything click.

I have a particular soft spot for Roman Britain, the medieval world and the Tudor period. From the remains of Roman London to the drama of medieval Westminster and the power games of Tudor palaces like Hampton Court, I love showing how these eras shaped the city — and how their traces are still all around us today. Medieval architecture is another passion of mine, especially the symbolism and craftsmanship behind cathedrals, castles and historic civic buildings.

Art lovers are very much at home on my tours too. At places like the National Gallery, I guide visitors through the great stories of European painting — from the early Renaissance to the Impressionists — always adapting the visit to your interests. Whether it’s Van Gogh’s colour, Caravaggio’s drama or the romantic detail of the Pre-Raphaelites, my aim is to help you enjoy the art, not feel tested on it.

While history is at the heart of what I do, I also love talking about modern British life — its traditions, daily routines, food, humour and cultural quirks. I believe a great tour connects past and present, helping you understand not just what Britain was, but what it is today.
