Sarah Ciacci
Hi! My name is Sarah and I’ve been a guide for 15 years. And I still love it.
I’d love to work with you to work out the things you would enjoy to do most in London, whether it be the highlights or things that are more off the beaten track.
I have an MA in history of Art, so not only do I love history but I also specialise in art galleries. I love working with kids, young people and families (I have a 10 year old who I test things out on!) – I firmly believe kids can enjoy guided tours and get a lot out of them! And a lot of what I do with kids I now do with adults too – who doesn’t love a good story, or being asked what they think, or asking them to use their imagination – or even do a sketch?!
Some of my favourite places to go and explore in London are: The Tower of London (amazing!), Westminster Abbey (awe inspiring and so much history!), The National Gallery (not visited enough, it’s fab!), The National Portrait Gallery (fabulous portraits of English Kings and Queens), the V&A (a treasure trove), The British Museum (for some revision of those ancient civilisations!), Hampton Court Palace (it’s wonderful – really worth a visit!), climbing to the top of the Dome at St Paul’s Cathedral, The Churchill War Rooms (his underground bunker during World War II)…. And there is much more of course!
I also run Tours For My Kids, which provides tours aimed at young people, so if I can’t do something I can get one of my specialist guides to show you around, no problem! We also provide Scavenger Hunts of places like the British Museum, Natural History Museum and V&A, and Look-Talk-Draw tours as well. Do check out the website for more ideas (www.toursformykids.com).
And in terms of me – I’m a Londoner (absolutely love this city!), I’m half Italian and I have a 10 year old. I have an MA in Art History and work as a gallery educator. I give lectures in art history and train Blue Badge Guides in the National Gallery, where I am also a National Gallery Guide. I run Tours for My Kids and love bringing history to life for young people. And for fun, I love reading, meeting people and I often go to Rome to visit my parents – another fabulous city!
Do send me an email (sarah@sarahciacci.com) if you’d like to discuss your trip, and I look forward to meeting you in London!
