Nick Meyer

Coming to London? Congratulations on a great choice! Thinking of coming? Think no more – the place I call home is an incredible destination, and I can’t wait to show you around!
I was born in London (within the sound of Bow bells) and have lived and worked here my whole life. Starting off as a commodity broker, a mid-life career switch via a History of Art degree led me to a role with a contemporary art foundation and gallery before I joined Christie’s, the world’s oldest and most prestigious auction house. And now I have the best job in the world.
I love all that London has to offer: incredible places steeped in history, like Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London, and St Paul’s Cathedral; amazing institutions like the British Museum, the National Gallery and South Kensington’s finest – the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum and the Victoria & Albert Museum. And if it’s royalty that stirs you, we should take in some official residences: Buckingham Palace, St James’s Palace - both fantastic backdrops to the Changing the Guard ceremony - and Kensington Palace.
All along the mighty River Thames, from Greenwich in the east to Hampton Court and Windsor Castle in the west, with Westminster and The City in between, there’s so much to explore. And that’s without venturing a little further afield; day trips to Oxford, The Cotswolds, Stratford-upon-Avon, Bath, Canterbury, Stonehenge and Salisbury are a great way to get a taste of life beyond the capital.
And if English isn’t your first language, I speak excellent French and Spanish, and conversational Italian and German.
Being a Blue Badge guide means I’ve got the knowledge and knowhow to ensure you have an amazing experience. Whether you want to stick to the main sites, or enjoy a curated itinerary based around a particular interest, London has it all. My particular passions are sports, music and the arts, but I’d love the opportunity to turn your specialist subject into a tailored tour.
So welcome to the greatest city on earth; I’m excited to share it with you!
