안녕하세요! 런던 블루뱃지 가이드 양재은입니다.
저는 대한민국 서울에서 태어나고 자랐습니다. 한국의 대학에서 학부를 마친 뒤 런던에 정착했는데 어느덧 이곳에 산지 30년이 넘어가네요. 처음엔 낯설던 이국땅이었지만 때로는 시행착오도 겪으며 복닥복닥 살다보니 이제는 런던을 자연스럽게 집이라 부르게 되었습니다. 영국에 살고있는 한국인으로서 두 다른 문화와 관습을 포용하며 저만의 독특한 색깔을 갖게 된 듯 합니다.
우연히 지인의 추천을 계기로 런던 가이드를 시작하게 되었는데 그동안 했던 다른 일들에 비해서 더 매력적으로 느껴졌어요. 낮선 여행지에서 즐겁고 보람찬 하루를 보낼 수 있도록, 여행의 설레임이 아름다운 추억으로 바뀔 수 있도록 도울 수 있다는 것은 행복한 일입니다. 좀 더 깊이 있는 공부를 하고 싶어서 영국 공인가이드 자격증인 런던 블루뱃지 가이드 자격을 취득하게 되었습니다.
그동안 프라이빗투어, 소규모그룹투어, 패키지투어, VIP의전, 행사, 통역 등 다양한 임무를 수행했으며 새로운 종류의 일들을 배우며 도전해 왔습니다.
제가 지향하는 투어는 작지만 긴 여운을 남기고 편안하면서도 새로운 경험을 주는 투어입니다. 제가 런던에서 살아온 경험과 그리고 가이드로서의 지식과 기술을 바탕으로 손님의 필요에 꼭 맞는 투어를 설계하고 제공합니다. 때로는 편안한 동네 이웃처럼 이곳의 역사와 문화, 예술과 자연 그리고 우리 사는 이야기들을 함께 나누고 웃을 수 있는 그런 소중한 시간을 함께 만들고 싶습니다.
Hello! I am Jae-Eun, a London Blue Badge Tourist Guide.
I was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. I left for London after graduating university and it’s already been 30 years since. Over the years of building a career, family and life in London, I feel that I’ve formed a uniquely multicultural identity. I am proud to embrace both Korean and British cultures and, through that, create a third culture that I can share with others.
I started tour guiding by chance, thanks to a recommendation from a friend. It turned out to be more enjoyable and rewarding than anything I’d done before. With the desire to become a better guide, I went on to earn the London Blue Badge Guide qualification and haven’t looked back since. I truly enjoy the opportunity to spend a day with my guests and helping them foster memorable experiences during their visit.
I’ve hosted private, small group and package tours, VIP events, and interpretation services, and would love to tailor the perfect trip for you. Together, we can experience the rich cultural offerings London has to give and build memories to last.
