"Knowledgeable, friendly, experienced, flexible, professional, enthusiastic, informative, engaging, warm, gracious, personable, kind, considerate, patient, fun to be with ..... you won't want your day to end". Just some of the words used by guests in their feedback over recent months.
I love to show off London - my hometown. I came to the city straight from university and I have lived and worked here since. My sport and history loving husband and children are all born and bred London - our longtime home is close to Abbey Road and Regents Park.
If I had to choose a speciality, it would be military history - WW1, WW2 and all things Winston Churchill. But I am also a generalist. I love the many things London has to offer and I bring the enthusiasm I have about learning and discovering to my tours. I can take you on bespoke tours that include any of London's amazing sites, art galleries, museums, the Royals and their palaces and pageantry including the Guard Change or our beautiful churches. I can't help but to bring literature (Dickens, Shakespeare, Sherlock, Jane Austen), film locations and food into any of my tours. I am flexible - I will always adapt tours even on the day to suit your interests, needs and pace. Sometimes you may just want a cup to tea or a shopping interlude - it is your precious time to spend as you like. I generally work with small groups and I am happy to engage with all ages - to have families on tour together is a very special treat and guiding with young people can be a joy.
Other than the prestigious Blue Badge, I am also qualified to conduct walking tours throughout Westminster and the City London. I know all those secret off-the-beaten-track places. Hampstead is my local area and I'm always delighted to show people Hampstead Heath and Kenwood - "rural London". Short days out of the City and I particularly like to guide Hampton Court, Windsor, Oxford and Bath.
I have a professional background in finance and international cultural relations where for many years I worked closely with cultures across the whole world. I have also travelled extensively for work and pleasure and have lived in India, France and Italy.
It’s most important to me that you enjoy your time in and around London and that I help create experiences and memories that will stay with you forever. I'd love to be your guide here!
