Judy Robertson

I have always wanted to be a Blue Badge London Guide to be able to share my love and interest for London and it is a role I cherish. I could say that I enjoy family groups, student groups, or corporate groups but what I really enjoy is being with people and sharing my enthusiasm for what is one of the most exciting cities you can visit. I studied French Language and Literature at the University of London, lived in France and also taught English as a foreign language. I taught French in UK schools and enjoy meeting and interacting with young people. I can give you insights into treasures of London such as Westminster Abbey, St Paul's Cathedral, the Tower of London or highlights of museums and galleries such as the National Gallery, British Museum or National Portrait Gallery. To visit any of them is part of the puzzle that makes up London and get to know the unique characters who have made it so successful. I live on the South Bank on the edge of the City of London, that unique square mile which dates back nearly 2000 years, we can go on a historic and architectural odyssey from Roman to present time. I am married to an architect and extremely interested in all aspects of the built environment of London - in particular historic and modern architecture and building conservation. I have a particular passion for 20th century and evolving modern architecture. Let me introduce you to my home ground of historic Southwark, modern Bankside and Borough market and enjoy a food tour in the Borough neighbourhood or elsewhere in London. I love cycling and walking around London, it is the best way to see all the unique sights of London you might otherwise miss. Join me for a walk or a cycle tour of London on the Jubilee Walkway or the Jubilee Greenway, walking and cycle routes commemorating the Queen's Silver and Diamond Jubilees. I know that your time in London is very precious and my job is to make the most of that time. Tell me what you want to see, what you like and I will try and do my very best to give you a visit to remember.
