I love London, its palaces, museums, galleries, parks and gardens. It is a treasure trove of stories and has a huge wealth of history. Not only that, it is a happening city where nothing stands still. I am excited every day to show off its pageantry, traditions and its amazing heritage. So much to see!

I have been taking people on tours of Europe for the past 20 years and more recently I have specialised in London. When I returned to my home capital I was amazed at just how much it has to offer. Every section of London has its own character. Day to day I find myself telling stories of fascinating characters, pioneers, trend setters, artists and music makers. I also describe the events that have taken place behind the walls of the many buildings in the city, historic and modern, and the way in which these events and people have changed our world. Another great joy for me is to explain the fabulous artefacts in our museums - the cultures of the British Museum, the art of the National Gallery and the exquisite design of pieces in the Victoria & Albert Museum.

I am also an expert on Windsor Castle and love also to guide Hampton Court Palace and Kensington Palace. If there are any other areas outside London which are accessible on a day trip then do feel free to contact me... Bath, Stonehenge, Oxford, Stratford are all easy to do in a day and if you don't have transport then let me know - I can also organise this for you. I would love to bring London and the area around to life for you - do get in touch.

The Rosetta Stone at London's British Museum – Uncovering the Secrets of Ancient Egypt

One of the most popular items in the British Museum in London is the Rosetta Stone. It is rather unremarkable. It is the height of a child, cracked at the edges, lacking colour, and with inscriptions on only one side. There is little beauty in it, and the inscriptions are boring decrees - yet it is maybe one of the most famous stones in the world. For over 20 years it became the focus of a race to crack a code of strange pictures and shapes and in doing so uncover the life of Ancient Egypt.
