Geoffrey Levett
I am an enthusiastic guide who loves London. I want to help people make the most of our city during their time here, whether visitors or residents. I have lived and worked in London all my adult life, first as a broker in the City and latterly in the hospitality industry, where I have gained plenty of hands on experience with groups and their needs.
I write and teach history, specialising in the history of Britain and its Empire in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Sport is also a subject on which I have written and presented extensively and being a keen sportsman myself I know a lot of the nooks and crannies of sporting London. I can organise specialist sporting tours to suit your interest. Currently I am the Secretary of the British Society of Sports Historians and the Secretary of the Cricket Society.
I have a keen interest in art, being a member of most of the large galleries and museums (Tate, Royal Academy, British Museum ) and would be very happy to organise tours on specialised themes. I'm also a great theatre-goer and have written and produced plays myself over the last few years.
If you want a flavour of what I offer each November I offer a themed walking tour for charity. Previously year's walks have included a Beatles/60s tour of Chelsea, a Sherlock tour of the City and Marylebone, and Blitz tours of the East and West Ends.
